Half of my wardrobe is probably from H&M and Zara. Only this year did I realise living and working so close to them have such adverse effects, apparently. I've had no complaints until one of my black trousers from H&M started fading into an unattractive grey, almost rag-like, really and only after 3 washes. It's true you get what you pay for and for 2,500 yen, I think I got a couple of washes more out of that bargain.
Hence the slow transition to investing to quality staple pieces any responsible adult's closet should carry (that will also outlast the number of washes my fingers can hold up). I've been going around shops and online-gawking. Top priorities are the speckled Nike Roshes, black skinny trousers and white and grey tees preferably from T by Alexander Wang or J. Crew. Why the Nikes claim shotgun is simple: they're shoes. So far, I've had no luck locating stockists here and it's making me resort to checking online which only breaks my heart because I don't have a credit card (not so adult, huh?). Long story short, my Polyvore sets may or may not be the manifestation of my life's frustrations.
Please, universe. At least the Roshes. And 6.5, please.
